Gilbane Conference in DC
We (Aaron, Adam, and Kelly) just got back from attending the Gilbane Conference in Washington, DC. The conference went well and was very productive. Being on the smaller side with just a couple hundred people, we had the opportunity to really interact with the attendees and hear about their experiences with blogs and wikis.
From their feedback, we definitely received confirmation of the relevancy of what we’re doing. We heard from a number of stories from individuals about how their organizations have been battling with social media and trying to determine the best way to control it. One business has a person whose work is dedicated solely to reading blogs all day long! Many others recognized the definite need for a product like SM2 within their organizations, small and large. Many of those we spoke with left us with their names and plans to mention our company and software to their colleagues. One of the sessions even focussed directly on the need for organizations to be aware of collecting and retaining all electronic communications and information. She specifically highlighted the use of blogs and wikis and the need for organizations to be aware of including them along with all their other electronic information. It was great affirmation of what we’re doing. There is clearly a need for this type of tool in all sizes of organizations!
